Glimpses of our first In-Studio Maternity Shoot with Nayana
2024, Nayana arrived at the Candid Novia & Photowant studio floor for her maternity shoot. The session was led by Raunak Shankar on photography, with Sreelakshmi assisting throughout the process. As this was our first in-studio maternity project, the preparation carried both excitement and responsibility.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The vision was to create portraits in the Ravivarma theme, blending cultural elegance with modern studio work. Nayana embraced the concept beautifully, and the styling highlighted her grace during this special phase. The shoot also marked a turning point for us in exploring more conceptual photography.
Photography and Editing

- LC light, and backlights
- using a brown backdrop to set the tone
Simple yet symbolic, peacock feathers were used as live properties to enhance the visuals. The images were refined using Generative AI edits, delivering a polished and artistic final look. Grading and AI prompting were handled by Shanu Prakash.
Final Outcome
The outcome was a series of stunning graded photographs, each reflecting the elegance of Nayana’s maternity journey. The Ravivarma-inspired theme gave the collection a timeless touch, making it both unique and memorable.
Experience and Highlights
Being our first in-studio maternity client, this shoot holds a special place in our creative journey. It opened the door for future conceptual projects and strengthened our confidence in experimenting with new styles. The calm and supportive atmosphere made the session smooth and enjoyable.
